#BeTheStorm A movement to empower survivors to reclaim their narrative and become undeniable forces for change, reshaping the societal and legal landscape of domestic abuse. #BeTheStorm A Dedication "Dedicated to all those who claimed back their power and was a light house to all those who followed behind." The Core Principle "You're the lighthouse in the storm." - from my victim statement "You ARE the storm." - Mum Mission Statement To empower survivors to reclaim their narrative and become undeniable forces for change, transforming personal struggle into a collective storm that reshapes the societal and legal landscape of domestic abuse. Vision Statement We envision a world where the collective voice of survivors is so powerful it becomes the primary catalyst for policy change, service improvement, and public understanding of domestic abuse, making the 'Negative Loop' a relic of the past. Legislative Goals: A Survivor's Bill of Rights for the Digital Age The ultimate goal of our advocacy is legislative change. The current system re-traumatizes survivors and is inefficient. We demand a new, technology-driven standard of care, mandated by law. The Right to a Single, Secure Point of Truth Mandate that police and support services must accept evidence from accredited, secure, survivor-controlled digital platforms. This ends the "Negative Loop" of survivors having to re-live their trauma by repeatedly telling their story. The Right to Privacy and Control Legislate the "zero-knowledge" principle as a requirement for any digital service handling survivor data. This means service providers must be technologically incapable of accessing user-encrypted data. The Right to Immediate, Proactive Support Fund and mandate the integration of digital safety tools, like automated safety check-ins and discreet alert systems, into standard victim support protocols. Sign the Petition on Change.org Service Infrastructure & How We Get There This is not just a digital campaign; it's a plan for real-world systemic integration. The Agency Portal The cornerstone of our legislative goals. We will partner with police forces, charities (like IDAS), and legal aid firms to pilot the portal, demonstrating its efficiency and security. Professional Advocacy Co-authoring open letters with our partner agencies to present a unified front to policymakers. Community Mobilization Using our growing online community to support the campaign, share stories (with consent), and demonstrate public demand for change.
